Just loading up some programs on our new #digitalinclusion loan laptops - what apps/programs do others pre-load for learners? #digihousing

Thanks - we've got Skype already, Office, OpenOffice (so people can compare), an online job application simulator I cobbled together in HTML, some sample CV templates, chrome/firefox (both with WoT add-ons), rapid typing, plus a load of pre-loaded bookmarks. Used to have BBC Webwise, Skillswise and Cashwise but think they might be showing their age now.

Who is the target group for this, James? My advice is always to start with the fun stuff unless you are specifically aiming to deliver employment-related skills

They get used for a range of projects/target learners, so I try to make them a swiss army knife!

offering literacy/numeracy, learner engagement, employability, etc. Mainly aimed at working age.
