Who has the most enthusiastic and committed staff?
Well here are a couple of contenders - Magenta Living, one of the Digital Deal projects was able to employ two Digital Inclusion Promotional Assistants thanks to the Digital Deal. The key quality they were looking for was enthusiasm.
When Magenta asked Tom and Jenny to write a blog on their first month with them, I think you will agree their enthusiasm comes shining through:
Here's what Tom had to say:
My first month at Magenta Living has been brilliant. I must say I love the building its absolutly sublime!! Every single person I've encountered has been incredibly friendly and polite towards me and each other, The staff benefits such as flexi-time and medi-cash are fantastic to have - and the company as a whole and its prospects and ambitions are really really positive.
I fell in love with this job from the minute I walked in this wonderfully serene building and would love to stay here for many many years. I've already aspired Brian Simpson's desk! I'de love to run this company one day!
The people I've encounterd in some of Magenta's sublime properties such as Brackendale A.K.A the hotel have also been fantastic with me and I've sincerly enjoyed helping each individual and being apart of the digital inclusion events.
I look forward to the upcoming 5 months left of my contract and really hope I can stay as it makes me smile every morning when i see the big MAGENTA sign at the front of the building - I'm really happy here! :)
And here's Jenny's views:
My first month with Magenta Living has been beyond great and beyond what I expected really. From day one I've been warmly welcomed by every member of staff I've come in contact with, and they have been so friendly/approachable and helpful. This has just made settling in so easy!
Still can't get over how nice the building is too! Even now after a month I'm still amazed at this building and can't believe I work in such a place. It just makes working at Magenta even more enjoyable and a delight.
I'm enjoying the role more and more as the weeks go on. It's been interesting meeting the various Magenta residents, conversing with them during surveys/events and helping to solve their problems and conquer their fears of getting online. Each event has gone so well. The residents have shown great interest as well as appreciation of helping them get online and more knowledgeable of the internet.
A highlight so far was meeting a resident from Brackendale which had a condition which affected her speech greatly, which in turn affected her confidence to go out and mix with people. We informed and showed her what the internet could do and how it basically could be another form of communication for her. She was beyond appreciative! and was so made up she was nearly in tears. So this Digital Deal event/campaign has been a kickstart to enhancing her life!
I'm very greatful for this oppurtunity and the experience so far and I look forward to the next few months with Magenta Living. I really hope I will be working here for many years to come!
It's really great to see the enthusiasm from these new recruits, and we wish them well as they continue in their careers at Magenta!
