A free digital champions  course is being planned for anyone interested in volunteering to help Rotherham residents get online in Spring  2017. Digital Champions are local people who are already using the internet and who will gain through training the skills needed to be a Volunteer Digital Champion and the necessary knowledge to help communicate the benefits of going online.To be a Digital Champion, you will need a willingness to help and support other residents to get online, a friendly helpful attitude that can encourage people, good basic skills in using computers and tablets and a willingness to undertake a free DBS check which will enable you to work with vulnerable residents.

The course is between 10am and 1pm on Thursday mornings beginning April 26th 2017 and is seven weeks in duration. This free course has been organised by Rotherham Digital Inclusion Network in partnership with Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) and Rotherham Federation of Communities (RotherFed).
